Homo sapiens' nearest relatives live in hierarchical bands, but hunter-gatherer bands are egalitarian. Most agricultural societies are hierarchical. Was the reemergence of hierarchy cultural or did farming allow for the reappearance of previously culturally supressed hierarchical instincts?

According to Wikipedia, the double-slit-experiment-with-detectors-at-the-slits I've seen described in numerous videos/internet comments is a thought experiment and has never been performed. Is there any actual evidence that in such a scenario the interference pattern wouldn't actually form?
