Why were the English able to consistently invade France during the 100 years war and conduct devastating raids but not vice versa? Did the French not have a navy and were they not able to mobilize fast enough?

Why did the Seleucids sue for peace after the Battle of Magnesia? The Seleucid Empire was large enough to field another army and given it's size it would be difficult for the Romans to march through the desert and into the Mesopotamian heartland.
