TIL the 2013 Hunter x Hunter Film "The Last Mission" was written by the 1999 series headwriter : Nobuaki Kishima. Although it is mediocre, just like it's predecessor "Phantom Rogue" written by Shōji Yonemura, a prominent 2011 writer, I feel it explains why the characterization is much stronger.
