When people say that dogs have superior hearing, what does that mean exactly? Whispers sound like shouts? Noises can be heard from miles away? I don't understand how my dog can have such incredibly sensitive hearing and not throw a fit when I turn the stereo on.

If I tack up a poster to the wall and then immediately remove it, it reverts to its rolled/curled form. If I tack up that poster, leave it for six months, and then remove it, it stays flat and straight. Where did all that energy go that was causing the poster to curl?
