I was petitioned to a 72hr psych evaluation, and as a result of my arrest/detainment my ipad mini 6 was left on the roof I was working on and rained on for 7 days. Ive got no income and have been in the application process for ssi disability since 2020 for severe, chronic and reclusive ptsd&mdd

Placed on Judge Petitioned 72hr Psych Eval, iPad Mini 6 ruined as a result as it was left on the roof I was working on for the week I was held. We live in a small county with no formal claims department and the sheriffs department told me find an attorney. Is it worth it for a $400 iPad?
