After a (tough) surgery keeping me out of the ocean, it turns out my wound dressing worked to keep water out of a ding I forgot about... Would you buy something to temporarily keep surfing before a proper repair?

Is this genius or idiotic? After recent surgery used a wound dressing to quickly patch a ding. Now I love it and am testing a few to see what's best, but there's gotta be something better out there. I don't always have the cash for a proper repair
