If my son is almost over having a cold, and I caught the same cold and I am on the first day of the cold, is it possible for him to catch the cold back from me and start over with a new cold? What about with something like strep throat?

How are medical studies of chemicals not duplicated? For example, if I think Substance A would be good for headaches, but my study shows that it isn't, do I publish that it isn't? Is that study held in equally high regard as one that establishes efficacy of a substance?
