Given that the majority of original Italian immigrants to America came from the South, how come most of the popular Italian dishes in America (Lasagne, Bolognese, Baloney, Alfredo/creamier sauce, Pollo/Vitello/Melanzane Parmigiana, Tiramisu) are far more Northern in origin?

What have the structure and timings of standard meals been across cultures and time, and what major habits, traditions or circumstances shaped them? From number and relative size of meals, to when they are taken - not exclusively meal composition? Did they vary according to local conditions?

Can anyone recommend some sources or books on the politics around the unification of Italy? Less so on the risorgimento/revolutions, but the political dynamics around Napoleon, Austria, Piedmont and the like.

The frequency with which major label bands typically released albums has moved from consistently around one per year in the 60s, slowing down progressively to one every 2 or 3 years recently. What are the factors that caused this slowdown in releases seemingly uniformly across the years?
