Let's say I am a message to the pope after the fall of Jerusalem in 1099 announcing the First Crusade's success. How long would I take to reach Rome? What was the process in sending me? Would more than one of me be sent incase of loss at sea? What form would I take?

It's said that after the Battle of Trafalgar, Nelson's men openly cried for him in scenes of unalloyed sorrow. Is this true, or just propaganda? It seems hard to believe given that they were all hardened sailors
