Is there a historical reason the Latinized names of certain Hellenistic figures (Hercules, Cerberus, Belladonna, etc) became much more common than the Greek (Heracles, Kerberos, Enyo, etc), while most figure's names are still known by the Greek one

A lot of time in media spears will have a small, bandana like, flag near the tip, was this actually something that was done and if so what's the reason?
