I just found out that while mars has about 1/10th the mass of earth it has 38% of the gravity. This suggests a non-linear relationship between mass and gravity at the surface. What causes this effect? [Physics]

I recently learned that a large number of very small black holes might have been created around the big bang. This raises the question; how small can a black hole theoretically be? Could it for example be small enough to pass through atoms?

Let's say we some day establish radio contact with an alien civilization in another solar system, obviously there would be a delay on the radio signals on the order of decades or centuries. But never mind the ping, what kind of band with could we establish?

NASA's OSIRIS mission found that the asteroid Bennu consists of loose material clumped together by gravity. Would that behave like a liquid? Could you float on it? Sail in it?

What happens to the background radiation from the universe as it enters a black hole? Does time dilation cause an observer to receive exponentially increasing doses of background radiation as the observer gets closer and closer to the event horizon?
