Scientists think the Earth had 2 periods of time when it was almost completely covered in ice. They only lasted a few million years. Do we have any way of knowing if Europa or Enceladus might be in similar temporary freezes? Or is theirs a clearly permanent state?

Would being able to divide by zero have any use in math? If you try 7/0=b, can we invent a quantity for b that's the solution to 7=b*0? The same way we invented a quantity i that's the solution to sqrt(-1)?

There's tons of microorganisms surprisingly deep into the Earth's crust. 70% of Earth's bacteria live underground, extending at least 5 km down. Could life have BEGUN underground instead of a "warm little pond"? Has there been any serious research into that question?
