If I create a robot capable of acting like a real human, like reacting using feelings and capable of falling in love, can it have conscience? Also, what gives conscience to ourselves?

When we look at a mirror our eyes have to focus as if we were looking to the object directly. Why aren't we doing PC Monitors and TV screens like this? Would it be possible?
