When John Adams defended the soldiers who fired at the Boston Massacre, he said that they were forced to defend themselves from a riotous mob led by Crispus Attucks. Is there any contemporaneous support for that view?

Can anyone tell me what type of cheap alcohol soldiers would have drunk during the Korean war? Not beer -- maybe some kind of fortified wine or some other liquor?
