FDR had a “gentleman’s agreement” with the press not to photograph him in a wheelchair or comment on his paralysis due to the stigma of the era. Was this upheld by the foreign press during the summits negotiating the post WWII world order? Did the soviets use it in their press against him?

In The Alexander Mosaic, how do we know that the character identified as Alexander is actually him? Darius makes sense because he is the most prominent Persian, but Alexander is the only Greek visible. How do we know there wasn’t an even more august figure in the damaged section?

In Homage to Catalonia Orwell portrays the Soviet Government's position on the war as being that Spain wasn't ready for revolution. He says the USSR funded the government essentially under the premise of "prevent revolution or you get no arms." Is it accurate that the Soviets opposed revolution?

I know that in Ancient Rome Christianity wasn't illegal par se but that Christians were persecuted because they refused to worship the emperor and also they taught others to not worship the emperor. Were Jews, who are also monotheists, persecuted for the same reasons?
