How could I make a shape layer on the moon and make it stick to its rotation? I can't seem to get it working with a null object

I have been trying to fix this for ages. For some reason, some parts of my moon animation are flickering. When I turn off edge feather it gets fixed but then the moon looks like crap. Is there any way to solve this? Any help is much appreciated.
