Since hydrogen and helium have sufficient bouyant force to float above the atmosphere, would a balloon filled with nothing, like all the air sucked out of it like a vacuum, also float or float higher than hydrogen and helium?

So far all food that humans have eaten comes from preliving things, but would it be possible for humans to chemically make a 'food' with all the right digestable nutrients or energy using just chemicals or chemically changing nonliving matter to make it edible/nutritious?
