There were a lot of subculture pseudo-theories that the moon landing was a hoax. All of them have been debunked, of course. However, did the Soviets ever have doubts? Did they have their own hoax theories about it? Did any official sources questioned it at least initially?

How much would the average male Roman from, let's say, the I century metropolitan Rome feel the pressure to look good? Apart from being surrounded by statues and mosaics of perfectly sculpted bodies, are there any societal expectations for men to look good?

In Dostoevsky's novels, Poles, Germans and Jews are more often than not portrayed as immoral, manipulative, greedy and unintelligent. They are often secondary characters that border on caricature. Was this the author's personal bias or were these minorities perceived negatively by the Russians?

In the Renaissance, Jesus, Madonna, saints etc are often portrayed among classical ruins. Why is this so? I understand the revival of interest in classical literature and art, but how would you explain theologically that anachronism to contemporary audiences?
