The United States just froze Russian Central Bank assets. The USA did a similar thing to the Japanese when they invaded China, a decision that ultimately led to Japan attacking the USA. Are there other historical examples of a country having assets frozen and going to war?

Can you describe how the Japanese obtained & refined oil/fuel preceding and during WWII? What affect did their dwindling supplies have on their fighting capabilities?

In WWII Europe, did the allies ever try around-the-clock bombing to wear out the defenders (spotters/radar techs/AA crews/pilots/ground crews)? For example, sending 10-20 bombers/hour to a target for 48 consecutive hours as opposed to sending several hundred bombers to different targets each day?
