Surely the Earl of Sandwich wasn't the first guy who thought of putting food inside/in between bits of bread, right? Tell me about them.

Early animation had a lot of "adult" subjects on it - references to/depections of suicide, alcoholism, stripping/burlesque, stuff like that. How did animation go from that to a medium that was aimed almost entirely at children?

A common plot device in fantasy settings is "some group finds ancient weapons from a lost civilization, uses them to great/terrible effect". Did anything like that ever actually happen?

There were takeout food places in the Roman empire; this is known. If someone went there, what would they drink? Would they get water, wine, juice, or something, or only get the foot? Did they have disposable cups?
