I found out recently that the sun is not still, it is moving away from other stars. Is it fair to say nothing is standing still, or have scientists decided on a 'default' place that is 'standing still' so at least we can measure galactic speed against that?

WW1, Zeppalins were used for combat. Huge balloons filled with Hydrogen, how come anything (like 1 bullet) from the ground didn't make them insta-explode?
