Second carp, first on pic. Anyone know how to cut braid? I was using a lighter to burn my tag ends and I lost my egg sinker and swivel hair rig lead these were polymer knots as well so I think the burnt tag ends and the stress killed my line.

Anyone know a good two piece rod for 50lb braided line? I found a reel that’s a 4000 and goes up to 50lb braid I just can’t find a two piece rod that goes up to 50 with it. The only one I’ve found close enough is 40lb.

The haul for the week never used a buzz, stick or a football jig and I usually use 1/32 beetles but all I’ve caught is choking bluegill on em. Seeing if upping the size will help with bass spitting them out.

Had a blowup on the lunkerhunt frog but hook set didn’t last long. Used 50lb braid like people recommended. I also waited a second or two before trying to set hook as recommended. They’re boiled already but I just pulled the hooks up a bit more. Do you think it’s more likely to keep the hookset?
