[WP] Genie-law states that if a wish is made that is logically unable to be granted the genie is set free. As this got around, genies everywhere have been trying to trip up their masters.

[WP] The nearby city had long since dismissed the legend that the trees of the magical forest were alive, able to be awakened with just the right spell. When an elf came to town and realized with horror what was being done, she cast the spell on the city. Suddenly, everyone's furniture came alive.

[WP] A wish costs that which you cherish most, and is made to have never existed in the first place. Nobody knew that it comes back if you just make another, altruistic wish (sacrificing that which you cherish second most). To save the world from the evil regime, you give up your intellegence.

[WP] Cursed to be a book, the pages are filled with incoherent thoughts, and now gathers dust on a shelf. When someone finally picks up the book, he tries to communicate with them, but they usually think they are being pranked, laugh, and put the book back down.

[WP] The genie took a millennia off after finally convincing a retired friend to sub in the interim. The retiree, however, is out of practice, and does not understand the modern language perfectly. When you find the genie, you try your best to make your wishes understandable.

[WP] The last person who used the magic lamp set the genie free, and now that you rubbed it, you became its new genie. You feel compelled to grant people their wishes, and are penalized when you do not, even though you don't know how or what to do. If only there were a book explaining it all!
