There have been many documented cases of ghosts, demons, and other paranormal events (with people such as Ed and Lorraine Warren). What is the scientific community's consensus on this activity? Have all been proven as hoaxes?

Why are parallel communication networks (as opposed to serial) not more widespread? It seems logical that parallel would lead to faster data transfer, but this is apparently not the case.

When you cut an elevator cable, with you inside of it, why would you feel weightless? If this did occur, would you float inside of it?

In space, where there are no air molecules, how do space shuttles move with their thrusters?

According to Newton's Second Law, F=ma. Does this mean that if you drop something from an inch vs 100 meters in the air, they will both have the same force (assuming uniform acceleration)? This logically doesn't make sense to me.

Two Physics based questions (out of curiosity): Why is it harder to bike uphill rather than walk/run? Also, why is it easier to push a shopping cart full of stuff rather than carrying it (assuming that its "carryable")
