I'm new to picking and I wanted to get a vice, but I don't have a lot of space and was hoping a low profile one would work. Is there any reason to avoid the style on the right and go with the left side? Or would it be okay?

Does a style of vice exist that can be unscrewed from the mounting plate? Like you see on the left with the Ikea table leg, the vice on the right looks like it could maybe unscrew so you're left with just the yellow plate on the table. I don't think this one does that, but does one exist?
