Could we theoretically build a telescopestrong enough to look across our galaxy and find light from Earth only just reaching our current location?

Matter moves through space/time it slowly collects forming bodies in space. Those bodies form larger bodies with more mass. Enough of these bodies collide, black holes are formed. Sometimes those black holes get close enough and merge. With infinite time wouldn't all matter eventually merge again.
