Why do sites like Google and Amazon need domain specific urls (amazon.ca google.ru) instead of .com always? Is it simply a language thing?

At 5:49 PM, San Bernardino, California had a 4.3 magnitude earthquake, yesterday. 6 hours later, Vancouver, Canada experiences a 4.9. Can one earthquake event cause another on the sane fault line? Even separated by such time and over thousand miles? Or is it pure coincidence?

Say two objects of similar density orbit the earth. Although one is much farther away than the other, it has much more mass than the other, so they look like they're the same size. Are we affected by their gravity in equal measure?
