When my Biology textbook says "the cell translates the information in the sequence of mRNA nucleotides to make a protein" what is the "information" it speaks about? Is it literal, tangible information stored somewhere?

How do muscles project force, ie: lift a dumbell? Do they have a storage of potential energy that comes out when used? Or am I really misinterpreting how all this works?
