My great grandparents used oxen, wooden plows, sickles, and scythes to work the land and harvest wheat in the pastoral planes of Eastern Europe. How different (if at all) was their agricultural technology from that of ancient people (e.g. Romans, Egyptians, Greeks, Babylonians, etc.)?

How did King Leopold II of Belgium manage to "trick" the other European powers into letting him have such a huge and rich colony like the Congo? Why didn't bigger powers like Germany or Britain, or France divide the region between themselves?

The ethnic Greeks of the Eastern Roman Empire, the Ottomans, czarist Russia, the Pope, and the Holly Roman Empire. What was so special about the Roman Empire that so many peoples claimed to be its continuation, even centuries after it ended?
