Napoleon Bonaparte's full title includes the phrase "By the Grace of God and the Constitution of the Republic" whereas Napoleon III's imperial title instead says "By the Grace of God and the will of the Nation". Are there any interesting reasons for this difference?

A lot of modern Greek names are derived from ancient pagan deities but growing up Catholic I remember hearing stuff about how you should always name a child after a saint or someone in the Bible. Did pagan names became a taboo for Catholicism but not Orthodoxy or is this a different issue?

In 1898 Andrew Carnegie offered the US government $20million in exchange for granting independence to the recently annexed Philippines. Nothing came from the offer but do we know how US government officials reacted to it? Was the offer taken seriously?
