Frontlit idea using the GBA frontlit kit with 3D print cover. GBA's screen size is very similar to Playdate, I think as long as the power source can be figured out, this might be the ultimate solution. This module on eBay is fairly cheap. Thoughts?

Another Playdate backlight idea? electroluminescent EL panel, people have done it to the original Gameboy. There's a small compartment next to the battery that might fit the controller board, it just needs to figure out where to tap into the power...
