Normal stars are made out of hydrogen which undergoes fusion. Can I make a star out of any element, provided I have enough mass to fuse that element? Say, Iron?

If science says that the higher the gravity in a reference frame, the slower time runs in that frame compared to elsewhere, then can you use another force, like centrifugal force, to simulate gravity in a reference frame to slow down time?

We can pull our drink through a straw by sucking on the top and lowering the air pressure of the straw so that fluid flows upwards. How big can I make my straw until even pulling a perfect vacuum on the straw cannot raise the liquid?
