There were many conservative women who opposed suffrage, but what did they do after the 19th amendment was passed in the US or when full suffrage was granted in Britain in 1928? Abstain from voting? Use their newfound political rights to fight for the repeal of those rights?

I’ve read in many sources that prior to the late 20th century opposition to abortion was mainly a Catholic issue and that Protestants including evangelicals were not very concerned with abortion until after Roe v Wade, but did this represent a theological shift or a purely social and cultural shift?
