How can I apply softbody onto objects with many parts and make it interact as if it's one whole obj? I've used the mesh deform modifier but it leaves a very noticeable gap where the collisions happen

Why is my texture painting showing the wrong colour? At first I thought it was something to do with the alpha but when I removed that the colours are still not showing correctly!
