So James Cameron et all are (eventually) going asteroid mining. Awesome. But how are they going to safely drop the material from orbit? I imagine it would have to be foolproof before any world government would allow it.

How many calories, fat, whatever does someone have to consume to replace a single donation of blood? A pint of blood weighs about a pound. Does that mean that the donor would need to consume an extra ~3500 calories to replace it? Or is it more complicated than that?

Since light is energy and there is a mass to energy equivalency do I gain mass when a photon hits me even though photons are massless?

I accept that there is an equivency between mass and energy but why does Einstein use tha speed of light as one of the factors? Why "c" instead of some other value?
