How much salt would I need to be able to float in my bathtub as if it were the Dead sea, would it work?

My bio teacher told me one way to gauge the microbe life in a lake is to see how clear/murky it is. If it's clear it means very little to no life, murky means there's tons of cute little things swimming around. Is this true?
