In the Marshall plan, why did Iceland get 44 million dollars? It was a island nation that wasn't in WWll. Was it because it was still part Denmark, was there battles there, or did America just want to influence it?

“One man with a gun can control a hundred without one” Vladimir Lenin. I can’t tell if this quote was for or against a armed public. While Marx was clearly in favor,( “under No pretext should arms and ammunition be surrendered”), what where Lenin’s and other revolutionary’s opinions on firearms?

How come when Europeans came to north America, they made the natives a minority, but in south America, the descendants of the natives at lest make up the majority? Or are they not native, but from elsewhere? (Spain?)

If the union had the ability to produce iron sides during the American civil war, and cannon shells bounced off of them, why didn't they apply this technology to something land based? (Say a cart or the war elephants Siam offered) what was stopping this early tank if they had the armor?
