Why do a lot of animals often just give up and let themselves die when they get badly injured or experience a lot of pain? Just because a tiger ripped open a deer’s leg shouldn’t be a reason for the deer to just give up and die, right?

[WP] A cursed pistol from WW2 has been cursed by the ghost of its first owner, causing the barrel of the gun to do a 180 and shoot in the opposite direction it is pointed in upon firing. You were an evil scientist who went broke and bought the gun to end it all, but now you have new plans for it.
