AFAIK, market participation is a measure for the health of an economy, and that total participation in, say, stocks would be balanced out. In recovering from a recession, total participation will lead to hyperinflation. What's a good way to find out the "critical proportion" of participation?

Everything I find about the efficacy of multivitamins talks about sample population with a healthy diet. How effective are they in those without a healthy diet, wherein they wouldn't be used as supplements per se?
