There were times after the Reconquista where Spain was especially vulnerable, for example: Napoleons invasion. Were there ever any plans by Morocco to collaborate with France in these invasions of Spain? What was going on in Morocco that made them so uninvolved from European wars besides piracy?

One of Russia's claims to "third Rome" was the marriage of Byzantine princess Sophia Palaiologina and Ivan III. Sultan Orhan I of the Ottoman Beylik also married a Byzantine princess, Theodora Kantakouzene in 1346. Why doesn't Orhan's marriage pop up more often in Roman succession historiography?
