What became of Lincoln's personal belongings after his death? The instant he died, even mundane household items would have become museum-worthy, no? Scavengers? Did Mary have to sell a lot of things off? Other family? What all do we have left of his and where can we look at it?

When did the masses begin to be embalmed with chemical fluids? When did it become illegal in many (most?) places in the developed world NOT to be embalmed if buried? Are there significant issues future archeologists will have to deal with as a result of current embalming practices?
