Is it theoretically possible to use a weather balloon to raise an object into space, wait a few hours for the Earth to rotate a bit, and then lower that object onto another country? A weather balloon courier of sorts?

How do some trees have such straight-edged canopies at the base? i.e., the lowest hanging leaves are all exactly 5 feet (for example) from the ground. Almost as if someone pruned them.

r/askscience and the Internet have a lot of info on prions, but I couldn't find the answer to this question. How do prions first enter an organism / appear within it? Mutation? Infection between organisms? If the latter, how did the "first prion" appear? Other?

Would it be possible to extinguish all mosquitoes if each human killed mosquitoes at a rate of 10 per day? How close (or far) would we get?
