Since we now know plants communicate with one another chemically through their roots, are singly potted plants the equivalent of humans in solitary confinement? In other words, are plant lovers unknowingly torturing those they profess to love?

We know that some other species (e.g. whales) have accents and dialects in the way they communicate. Have there been any species found which definitively *do not* have dialects, but rather any member of the species in the world would understand another?
