Bike won't start after replacing the alternator gasket. As a mechanic coming from the car world, any insight as to what this could be? Solenoid? Starter? The bike started and idled well after I replaced the gasket, but died the second I gave it throttle. Then it never turned over again.

2004 Kawasaki EX500R won't start after replacing the alternator cover gasket. Could be the starter/solenoid? The bike turned on and idled fine after I replaced the gasket, then died the second I gave it throttle and never turned over again. Would appreciate any insight.
