How well was armour ventilated? It would seem that armour would get very wet and sweaty inside and so what comfort measures available to a medieval society could be taken to reduce that?

Why does Malta, an island that saw 6700 tons on its main harbour alone in ww2, retain its ancient architecture, whereas mainland UK was rebuilt from the blitz in such a way as to ignore traditional architecture?

In WW1, the creeping fire tactic was used to obscure the advance of troops in no mans land, however, smoke bombs were invented in 1848, why weren’t smoke bombs used to obscure advancing troops?
