Is it conceivable that a life form could evolve in a human-deadly portion of the universe (such as radioactive, temperature, or vacuum) with resistance/immunity to that environment, or is that sort of thing so unlikely that it is virtually impossible?

For the double-slit experiment (if I understand it correctly) the results depend on whether it is observed. What about observations by electronic means (camera), or even observations by non-aware beings (animals)?
