After earthquakes left the walls of constantinople exposed (with the coming invasion of the Huns). Theodosius II hired Constantinus to rebuild. With such short amount of time, Constantinus looked towards the hippodrome chariot supporters for help. Can someone shed more light on this? Thanks!

I apologise if this has been asked in some way before, but, regarding beards (when they were considered popular in periods of history) - Were men who struggled to grow a beard ridiculed?
