Everyone knows that Hugo Boss designed the Nazis' uniforms, but how did American WWII servicemen come to have such snazzy uniforms? Even compared to US WWI duds they seem much more aesthetically appealing. Were they designed with this purpose in mind?

How did Douglas MacArthur and Joseph Stilwell regard one another? Although they were West Point classmates, spent their Army careers in Asia, and were elevated to the highest ranks of command, I don't remember reading about any interactions between them in their respective biographies.
