Say we're in the 13th century... How is obesity viewed by everyone? Is there a difference in how obese nobles are viewed vs. obese non-nobles?

So there has been a discussion that pops up less than I'd like and I'd just like to ask the question here: What have been the views of societies throughout history on the concept of fat? (Gaining weight, being overweight/obese, etc.)

How does Beethoven's music sound so good when he was supposedly deaf? Was it simply him figuring out what notes would sound good together?
