In regards to RAM, does unused memory consume energy? Basically I want to know if closing applications before putting my computer to sleep saves more energy than ram that is nearly maxed out.

How much water would need to agglomerate in space before it would stabilize into a sphere? If the answer is not much, how big could it get before gravity (or some other phenomenon) altered the water at the core?
